Latest Product Upgrades & Examples

Below is a list of products that shows the latest product upgrades (if any) together with any software that is specific to that product.
If you wish to download HUNT ENGINEERING software, use the link by that product information. You can also request a copy of our latest CD.
If you wish to enquire about upgrading your hardware giving full details of that hardware. DO NOT send hardware modules to us unless you have previously arranged this with us.

HERON Module Carriers

Product CodeUpgrade Details
HEPC9
25/06/03
New release of SP102 FPGA on HEPC9. This is to prevent some cases where the Sync Loss light has come on showing incorrect operation of HEART. This was triggered by certain data patterns and the use of multiple timeslot connections. Serial numbers A0151 onward have this version, if you believe you need this modification to your system.
HEPC9
11/02
Termination resistors for JTAG clock reduced from 220R & 330R to 100R & 100R. This improves the reliability of Code Composer Studio when using 4 modules. It should reduce the occurrence of "Cannot clear breakpoint" type messages from Code Composer Studio when used on the HEPC9. New boards from serial number HEPC90099 onwards have this modification. Anyone wanting to have this change done should for an RMA number. There will be a small charge for boards that are out of warranty.
HEPC9
11/02
New configuration PROM version for the FPGAs. This fixes a problem found only with HERON2, and it is necessary if you use the HERON2. It also adds some filtering to the HSB signals. This modification should not be necessary unless you use the HERON2. It is included from serial number HEPC90085 onwards, if you need the modification then .
HEPC9
04/07/02
A problem was found in production test. This resulted in a new version of PROM for one of the HEART FPGAs. All boards after S/N HEPC90059 inclusive have this new program. it is NOT necessary to upgrade previous boards unless a problem is observed. If you have a problem with your board for advice.
HEPC9
05/03/02
HEPC9 released with full implementation of HEART

HERON-FPGA3
12/02
New Hardware Interface layer. This supports accessing multiple HERON FIFOS at the same time. All examples and tutorials have been modified to use this and an application note written about how to move from HIL V1.x to HIL V2.0
HERON-FPGA3
03/02
Added RS-422 Areascan Camera Interface IP, also updated other IP to support ISE4.1i
HERON-FPGA3
5/10/01
New libraries (new HE-USER that supports HSB mastering from the FPGA)
Upgraded manual to include series resistor option for HERON-FPGA3V

HERON-FPGA4
12/02
New Hardware Interface layer. This supports accessing multiple HERON FIFOS at the same time. All examples and tutorials have been modified to use this and an application note written about how to move from HIL V1.x to HIL V2.0

HERON-FPGA5
01/10/04
Change in SDRAM component requires different VHDL. Modules with serial numbers J001 - J0012 are V1 of the FPGA5. Modules with serial numbers J013 onwards have the new SDRAM component are V2.

HERON-IO2
12/02
New Hardware Interface layer. This supports accessing multiple HERON FIFOS at the same time. All examples and tutorials have been modified to use this and an application note written about how to move from HIL V1.x to HIL V2.0
HERON-IO2
11/02
Some modules sometimes fail to re-configure a second or third time, although the first configuration is OK. When the module fails to configure one or more of the Power supply LEDs on the module is no longer lit. The Power supply circuit requires some resistor values to be changed. Modules after serial number HERONIO2111 have these new values. If you experience this problem then for an RMA. There will be a small charge for boards that are out of warranty.
HERON-IO2
11/02
New configuration PROM version for the control FPGA. It adds a filter to the HSB connection that fixes a configuration failure that can be seen when you have several modules in your system. Serial number HERONIO2102 onwards has this modification. If you have some problems configuring your FPGA for an RMA. There will be a small charge for boards that are out of warranty.
HERON-IO2
03/02
Updated examples and IP to support ISE4.1i
HERON-IO2
12/04/02
D/A output amplifier has been changed from AD8047 to AD8048 to solve a problem of lower than expected analogue output bandwidth. All modules from serial number 57 onwards have this change. Existing modules can be upgraded free of charge, if still under warranty. Please for a RMA number if you wish to upgrade your module.
HERON-IO2
5/12/01
Added termination resistors to the clock inputs. Modules with serial number HERONIO2024 onwards have had this modification done. Previous modules can be modified free of charge, if still under warranty. Please for a RMA number if you wish to upgrade your module.
HERON-IO2
5/10/01
New libraries (new HE-USER that supports HSB mastering from the FPGA)
New Example3 (data streaming)
New version of Example2 (Host example added)
Upgraded manual to include new I/O and Digitally Controlled Impedance options.

HERON-IO5
08/05
An inductor value has been changed in the analogue power supply circuit. This reduces ripple on the supply and significantly reduces the noise on the DAC outputs. This noise is around 300Khz, and is reduced by about 9dB when this change is made. All modules after serial number L084 have this change made. Anyone wanting to have this change done to a module older than that should for an RMA number. There will be a small charge for boards that are out of warranty
